I'm finally getting around to posting pictures from our annual Easter egg dyeing play date with our friends Inge and Anna. This year, we decided to challenge ourselves by using the Ukranian technique of drawing designs with melted wax on the eggs before dyeing them and then melting the wax off to reveal the design. We definitely need more practice! We also experimented with the quality of color produced on white eggs versus brown eggs and found that brown eggs produce a much richer color than white ones. That's good news because I have no white layers in my flock!
You can also see pictures of Thomas and his Easter basket, complete with chocolate bunny and wooden toy chicken coop--and pictures of our Easter dinner with Mamaw and Poppy. Thomas, of course, chose to feast on his chocolate bunny rather than my carrot cake.
